Top Five Reasons Why I Love VV

In honor of Valentine's Day, I thought it would be fitting to create a list of reasons why I love Vineyard Vines. There are millions of reasons, and I could go on and on, but I'll narrow this list down to the top five reasons why I love VV. Here they are:

1. Let's start with the obvious- Vineyard Vines is the definition of preppy. With pastel colors galore and belts and ties to match your every mood, VV fulfills the preppy lifestyle. As a company that started on the east coast, in Martha's Vineyard, it's no question why Vineyard Vines is the way it is. Check out a picture of the original preps themselves, the creators of Vineyard Vines, Shep and Ian!

2. The logo is a PINK whale. I mean really! Can you get any cuter than a smiling pink whale? I don't think so!

3. Vineyard Vines is constantly updating and improving their own company. Through social media sites such as Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, VV is very up-to-date with their branding. While the clothing remains simple and traditional, do not mistake the company for being old-fashioned. Vineyard Vines knows what's up!

4. Through a variety of different types of collections, Vineyard Vines offers a little something to everybody. Whether you go to college and want to show some spirit or you're a huge sports fanatic, you'll be sure to find something from the store. With a variety of accessories such as ties and totes, the company does an awesome job of targeting multiple audiences. While I personally enjoy the College Collection for when I go off to school in a few years, my dad loves the sports ties. In addition, Vineyard Vines has a Sorority Collection for girls involved with Greek life. You're bound to find something you like from Vineyard Vines, whether you know it right now or not! My newest favorite collection is the Valentine's Day Collection!

5. Last but not least, I love Vineyard Vines because I can play golf in it! As a member of the high school golf team, Vineyard Vines is definitely the brand that I wear most often to practice and matches. In fact, VV even has its own Golf Collection for girls and guys! However, golf is not the only sport that Vineyard Vines caters to. Other sports, such as tennis and lacrosse, often shop at Vineyard Vines.

The Whale Shop

One of my favorite aspects about Vineyard Vines is their recently opened online "Whale Shop." As a separate tab on www.vineyardvines.com, the "Whale Shop" presents shoppers with tons of fun items that feature the famous Vineyard Vines whale. With accessories like iPhone cases and key chains, the "Whale Shop" is a perfect place to shop for gifts. I love the "Whale Shop" so much that I've even gifted myself with a few items from there, like the iPhone case. Also, the great thing about Vineyard Vines is they are constantly updating the "Whale Shop" with the newest and hottest accessories.

I recently received this Patchwork Thermos as a gift. I bring it everyday to school, and I use it for either tea or coffee. It's great on the go, plus the patchwork pattern is super cute! You can find this on the "Whale Shop."

Both the Tervis Tumbler and whale magnet can be found on the "Whale Shop."  I put the whale magnet on my car, and I actually use the Tumbler as a pencil cup on my desk.

This keychain is next on my list to get from the "Whale Shop."  Isn't it so cute?

A Female's Perspective

Although I am a girl, I must admit that Vineyard Vines has some amazing apparel for men. Just ask my dad, almost every gift that I give him is from VV! Whether it is a pair of pants or a tie, you can't go wrong. In fact, even girls can wear some of the men's clothing. For example, last summer I purchased a 1/4-Zip Pullover at the store in Boston, and I wear it constantly. So, from a female's perspective, here are a few of my favorite male items:

This Crewneck Whale Sweater is great for any occasion and comes in a variety of colors.

Salmon colored shorts can do no wrong.

This Jersey 1/4-Zip comes in various colors.  I own it in gray.

I love this Blue Gingham shirt.

How sweet is this Antigua Party Whale Shirt?
An Ice Cream Bowtie? I wish I could wear this.

New Arrivals

Last week, I received a copy of the newest Vineyard Vines catalogue in the mail. Needless to say, I had a little bit too much fun picking out all of the new things that I like from the Spring Collection. The following three pieces are my favorite.

Curtain Bluff Shorts                                                                          Gingham Shirt                                        Curtain Bluff Dress

The Curtain Bluff pattern is perfect for the spring. I love the colors, as well as the striped pattern. Both of the Curtain Bluff pieces would look great with a pair of Jack Rogers, as pictured in the first image. Also, I think the Gingham shirt is super cute! You can wear it with a pair of shorts or white pants. It's a great shirt for the Spring and comes in other colors, like pink and green. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can wear some of these items!

True Life: I'm obsessed with Vineyard Vines

Over the past few years, I've developed an obsession with Vineyard Vines. From car magnets to coffee mugs, I absolutely adore everything that the store has to offer. Seriously though, how could you not love a pink whale? Although I can admit that this obsession is a bit out of hand (the pictures above probably hint at that), I can't help it! Vineyard Vines is preppy perfection. The brand features products in nearly every pastel color possible for both girls and guys.

As a teenager living in Chicago, though, gaining access to Vineyard Vines products is more challenging than for others living in the east or south. My hopes for this blog is to open eyes to the wonderful world of Vineyard Vines and hopefully show why the prep life is truly the best life.
